August 29 (SeeNews) - Building permits are now issued for all sections of Sector B of the Belgrade bypass road, which is under construction by China's Power Construction Corporation (Powerchina) and Azeri civil engineering company Azvirt, Serbia's infrastructure ministry said.
Powerchina has received a building permit for the construction of the 10 km-long Strazevica-Bubanj Potok stretch of the Belgrade bypass road which means that all building permits for the Sector B of the project have been issued, the infrastructure ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
Strazevica-Bubanj Potok is part of the 19.5 km Ostruznica-Bubanj Potok section of the bypass road, also known as Sector B.
Powerchina and Azvirt started construction works on Section B in July 2018. In April, Serbia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the two companies for the construction of the Bubanj Potok-Pancevo stretch of the Belgrade bypass road, known as Sector C.
In September 2018, Serbia signed an agreement to receive a 207 million euro ($229 million) loan from the Chinese government for the construction of the bypass road section linking the Ostruznica bridge on the Sava river to Bubanj Potok. The main contractor is a consortium of Powerchina and Azvirt.
