May 15 (SeeNews) - Serbia's trade minister Rasim Ljajic said on Tuesday the government plans to cooperate with Albania to launch a joint tourist offer and attract tourists from third countries.
The two governments have already started discussions on potential cooperation and Macedonia and Montenegro can also be invited to participate, Ljajic said in a video file posted on the website of news agency Tanjug.
Serbia and Albania, together with Montenegro, have already presented a joint offer on the Japanese market with the support of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) but the two countries have the potential to do more, Ljajic said during a news conference following a meeting with Albanian tourism minister Blendi Klosi in Belgrade.
"We have also decided to invite our colleagues from the ministries of tourism in our region to make a common strategy for promoting Albanian and Serbian tourism together with the other countries, with Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo and Macedonia," Klosi said in the video file.
Тhe number of foreign tourists who visited Serbia in 2017 grew 16.8% to some 1.5 million, official statistical data showed.
