February 10 (SeeNews) - China's Shandong Hi-Speed Group (SDHS) is considering the construction of a logistics complex in Valjevo, western Serbia, news daily Vecernje Novosti reported on Monday.
"The company is interested in the acquisition of land in Valjevo for the construction of a logistics complex for this part of Serbia," Vecernje Novosti quoted the director of the Serbian subsidiary of SDHS, Zhang Jianchao, as saying.
SDHS is also considering investments in the development of the Divcibare mountain resort located near Valjevo, given the rising interest of Chinese tourists in Serbia, Jianchao said.
During a meeting with Serbian infrastructure minister Zorana Mihajlovic in November, the deputy chairman of the company, Meng Yang, said SDHS is also interested in the projects for construction of expressways in Serbia linking Zrenjanin to Belgrade and Novi Sad.
In August, SDHS completed the construction of the Lajkovac-Ub section of pan-European transport Corridor XI in Serbia.
