PODGORICA (Montenegro), August 28 (SeeNews) – Montenegro's government said Saudi Arabia's Kingdom Holding Company (KHC) has expressed interest in investing in the country.
Montenegro is a state of inter-ethnic harmony, which makes it even more attractive for investments by Kingdom Holding Company, prime minister Dusko Markovic said in a statement after a meeting with the president of the Saudi company, Al-Waleed bin Talal, on Friday.
Markovic highlighted the good fiscal consolidation results achieved , as well as the fact that Montenegro has the highest economic growth rate in the region. He also stressed that the government is attaching priority to the strengthening of state institutions and further improving the investment environment, according to the statement.
The president of KHC has expressed interest in contributing to the development of Montenegro as an investor, the government said. It did not elaborate.
Al-Waleed is the largest individual shareholder in US investment banking Citigroup and the second-largest voting shareholder in US media corporation 21st Century Fox.
The value of KHC is estimated at $17 billion (14.2 billion euro), the Montenegro's government said.
