May 13 (SeeNews) - Most indices on Bosnia's Sarajevo Stock Exchange (SASE) advanced in April as total turnover dropped to 6.9 million marka ($3.7 million/3.5 million euro), compared with 98.1 million marka generated in March, the bourse said on Friday.
A total of 662,393 shares changed hands in 348 transactions on the bourse in April, the SASE said in a monthly trading update.
In April 2021, total trading turnover on the SASE came in at nearly 34 million marka.
The 10-share benchmark SASX-10 index of the SASE closed April 2022 at 959.80 points, up 4.62% compared with its value at the end of March.
The broader SASX-30 index, which is composed of the 30 most liquid stocks on the SASE, edged down 0.15% month-on-month in April, to 1,674.13 points.
The SASE index tracking investment funds, the BIFX, was 2.13% higher on a monthly comparison basis at the end of April, at 844.59 points.
The Islamic stock index SASX-BBI of SASE and Bosna Bank International (BBI) closed at 11,319.07 points at the end of April, up 3.98% month-on-month. The index tracks 25 companies.
SASE's total market capitalisation amounted to 6.05 billion marka in April, 2.1% higher month-on-month.
Pharmaceutical company Bosnalijek [SAJ:BSNLR] generated the highest trading turnover among the SASE-listed companies in April. Its shares changed hands in 26 transactions worth a total of 2.1 million marka. The company's shares last traded on the bourse on May 10, closing 0.33% higher at 24.5 marka.
The SASE is based in the Federation, one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The country's other bourse, the Banja Luka Stock Exchange (BLSE), is based in the other entity, the Serb Republic.
