April 23 (SeeNews) - Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair is launching services out of Bosnia's Banja Luka to two European cities - Brussels and Memmingen - from October, its schedule shows.
The airline will connect Banja Luka and Brussels from October 29, with two flights a week - on Mondays and Fridays, according to flight data published on its website.
It will also start flying between Banja Luka and Germany's Memmingen on October 30, also twice a week - on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Last week, the prime minister of Bosnia's Serb Republic entity, Zeljka Cvijanovic, said flights from Banja Luka to two European destinations will begin this autumn, following the completion of talks with an undisclosed airline.
"We will fly from Banja Luka to two very important European destinations in autumn. After that we will see the introduction of new links," Cvijanovic announced at a news conference in Banja Luka aired by broadcaster RTRS.
Banja Luka is the largest city in the Serb Republic - one of the two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other entity is the Federation.
The airport in Banja Luka is operated by Aerodromi Republike Srpske. It currently only offers a few flights a week to Serbia's Belgrade.
