March 14 (SeeNews) - Romania’s PVC pipes and fittings manufacturer TeraPlast [BSE:TRP], said it has launched a 16.8 million lei ($3.7 million/3.4 million euro) tender for the construction of a 4.56 MW solar power plant and an energy storage facility of at least 920 kW.
The project is funded through non-reimbursable funds from Romania’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), as well as the company’s own funds, TeraPlast said in a tender notice published on its website on Tuesday.

Bidders can submit offers until April 5. The offer price and technical performance standards each carry a 30% weight in the total evaluation, with other criteria focused on execution duration, payment conditions, post-installation services and warranties.
The photovoltaic (PV) power capacity will be distributed across seven buildings and two plots of land, serving TeraPlast’s own energy consumption needs.
The current estimated value of the project is lower than the 22.6 million lei projected in August 2023, when TeraPlast’s PV power plant received 5.5 million lei in financing through the NRRP.
TeraPlast is the parent company of local construction materials producer TeraPlast Group and has been listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange since 2008. The group’s net profit plummeted 93% on the year to 1.14 million lei in 2023, it said in a press release last month.
Also in February, TeraPlast group agreed to acquire construction, real estate and hospitality specialist Wolfgang Freiler Group, with two factories in Hungary, for 16.53 million euro ($18.1 million).
TeraPlast shares traded 0.53% higher at 0.574 lei as at 1410 CET on Thursday, on the Bucharest bourse.
