March 16 (SeeNews) - Siniat Romania, part of the Belgium-based building materials group Etex, said on Thursday that it booked a turnover of 357 million lei ($77 million/72.5 million euro) in 2022, up 17% on the year.
The result was driven by higher prices and the company's response to volatile demand, Siniat said in a press release.
Last year, the company invested 1 million euro in a gypsum drying and micronisation facility at its factory in Aghiresu, in the north-western county of Cluj.
The market is still recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, while the war in Ukraine caused syncopation in the chains of supply of raw materials, Siniat Romania CEO Andrei Popa said. The energy crisis and rising inflation rate forced the company to move cost surpluses to the market, he added.
Siniat Romania is a brand of Etex Building Performance, owned by Etex Group. In Romania, the group operates two construction materials production facilities - one in Aghiresu and one in Turceni, in the southwestern county of Gorj.
