March 23 (SeeNews) - Romania’s central bank said on Thursday that M3, the broadest gauge of money supply, grew by a nominal 7.3% year-on-year to 612.2 billion lei ($135.2 billion/124.4 billion euro) in February, following a 6.5% rise in January.
On a monthly comparison basis, M3 money supply edged up 1.4% in February, the central bank, BNR, said in its monthly monetary statistics report.
In real terms, M3 was 7.1% lower on the year in February and inched down by 0.4% on the month.
Romania’s M1 monetary aggregate decreased by 4.8% on the year in February, to 389.7 billion lei, after a 4.5% drop in January.
Net foreign assets rose by an annual 9.4% in February, reaching 287.6 billion lei, while net domestic assets added 5.5% to 324.6 billion lei.
