July 2 (SeeNews) - The number of tourists staying in Romania in the first five months of 2019 rose by 6.2% on the year to more than 4.3 million, the country's statistical board, INS, said.
Tourists spent 8.41 million overnights in Romania in the January-May period, up 9.9% compared to the prior-year period, INS said in a statement on Tuesday.
In May alone, the number of tourists staying in Romania increased 4.9% on the year to 1.1 million, while overnights increased by 12.3% to some 2.16 million.
