September 7 (SeeNews) - Romania's energy output fell by 7.7% on the year in the first seven months of 2009, while imports decreased by an annual 39.3% , the National Statistics Institute (INS) said on Monday.
Romania's energy production totalled 13.277 million tonnes of oil equivalent (TOE), while imports reached 5.960 million TOE through July, INS said in a statement.
A TOE is the rounded-off amount of energy that would be produced by burning one metric tonne of crude oil.

Romania's electricity output and imports totalled a combined 34.006 billion kilowatthours (KWh) through July, down by 12.0%. The country's electricity output dropped by 12.0% as well.
Romania’s electricity exports in the seven-month period fell by 34.3% on an annual basis, or by a net 1.114 million KWh.
