March 30 (SeeNews) - Romania issued 5,421 building permits for residential projects in January-February, up 11.1% year-on-year, the national statistical office, INS, said on Monday.
As many as 70.6% of the permits issued in February were for projects located in Romania's rural areas.
The regional distribution shows an increase in the number of construction permits released for residential buildings, compared to February 2019, in north-east,South-Muntenia, Bucharest-Ilfov, north-west, west and south-west Oltenia.
INS provided no figure for the value of the projects which were granted permits.
Romania issued 42,541 building permits for residential projects in 2019, down 0.4% on the year.
