March 13 (SeeNews) - Romania's industrial sales rose 9.1% year-on-year in January, after advancing by 7.3% in December, data from the country's statistics office, INS, showed on Monday.
All main industrial groups sales posted annual growth in January, INS said in a press release. Sales of capital goods grew by 17.8%, of energy by 11.5%, of durable goods by 7.2%, of non‐durable goods by 6% and of intermediate goods by 2.2%.
On a monthly comparison basis, the country's industrial sales were down 5.6%, following a 10.9% decrease in December. In January, the following industrial groups' sales were lower on the month: non‐durable goods industry by 16%, energy industry by 14.1%, intermediate goods by 11.5% and durable goods industry by 1.6%. The capital goods industry increased by 1.1% on the month in January.
In 2016, Romania's industrial sales rose 4.7%.
