January 12 (SeeNews) - Romania's economic output increased by 7.4% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2021, compared to 5.6% contraction in the like quarter of 2020, non-adjusted preliminary data of the country's statistical board, INS, indicated on Wednesday.
On a seasonally adjusted annual comparison basis, Romania's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 8.2%, INS data showed.
Compared to the second quarter of 2021, GDP edged up 0.4% in the third quarter.
In a flash estimate issued in November, INS said that third-quarter GDP rose by an unadjusted 7.2% year-on-year and by 0.3% quarter-on-quarter.
Final household consumption volume expanded by an annual 6.6% in the third quarter of the year, INS said on Wednesday.
The agricultural sector's output jumped by an annual 33.8%, while gross fixed capital formation decreased by 1.7% in the third quarter. The industrial sector's output grew by 2.2%, while construction fell by an annual 6.3%.
Imports of goods and services rose by an annual 10% in the third quarter of 2021, while exports increased by 8.2%.
The country's economic output will increase by an estimated 7% in 2021, finance ministry analysts said in August, revising their previous forecast for 5% growth.
Romania's economy contracted by 3.7% in 2020, compared to a 4.1% expansion in the previous year.
