March 7 (SeeNews) - Romania's economy expanded by 4.1% year-on-year in 2018, compared to a growth rate of 7% in the previous year, provisional data from the country's statistical board showed on Thursday.
The data confirms earlier flash estimates.
Final household consumption volume rose by 4.9% in 2018, INS data showed.
The agricultural sector output grew by 9.9% last year, while gross fixed capital formation increased 8.7%. The industrial sector output added 4.1%, while construction was down by 5.6%.
Imports of goods and services increased 8.6%, while exports grew 4.7% in 2018.
In the fourth quarter alone Romania's annual economic growth slowed down to 4.1% from 4.2% in the third quarter, INS unadjusted data showed.
Based on seasonally adjusted data, Romania's economy expanded by 4.0% year-on-year in the fourth quarter, compared to 3.9% growth in the third quarter.
On a quarterly comparison basis, Romania's GDP grew 0.7% during September-December, according to seasonally adjusted data.
The full-year 2018 GDP growth figure is below the government's forecast of 4.5% increase.
