July 13 (SeeNews) - Romania's consumer prices rose by 2.58% year-on-year in June, compared to 2.26% in May, the national statistical office, INS, said.
Food prices rose 5.35% year-on-year in June, while non-food prices added 0.68%, INS said in a statement on Friday.
Prices of services grew by 2.78%.
On a monthly comparison basis, Romania's consumer price index (CPI) edged up by 0.08% in June, as food prices were 0.38% lower, non-food prices rose by 0.28% and prices of services were 0.34% higher.
The average consumer price inflation over the last 12 months was 3.3%, compared to the previous 12 months.
In June, Romania's central bank cut its monetary policy rate to 1.75% from 2.00% as part of a package of measures aimed at mitigating the impact of the coronavirus crisis on households and companies.
