July 24 (SeeNews) - Nuclearelectrica [BSE:SNN], the operator of Romania's sole nuclear power plant Cernavoda, said on Tuesday that the plant's Unit 1 was reconnected to the grid.
On Monday morning, Cernavoda NPP Unit 1 automatically disconnected following a false signal which triggered one of the turbine systems on the non-nuclear part of the power plant, Nuclearelectrica said in a filing to the Bucharest Stock Exchange, BVB.
Following an analysis, specialists established that the false signal was caused by a weakened connection on the surveillance segment.
The repair works had no adverse impact on the personnel, the population or the environment, the company said.
Nuclearelectrica shares traded 1.09% higher at 7.42 lei by 0917 CET on Tuesday on the Bucharest Stock Exchange. The energy ministry owns a 82.4% stake in the company.
