BUCHAREST (Romania), January 6 (SeeNews) – The indices of the Bucharest Stock Exchange closed in positive territory on Friday in lower turnover.
The blue-chip BET index of the Bucharest bourse added 0.82% to 4,379.57 points on Friday. The BET-FI, which tracks Romania’s five regional investment funds, the SIFs, and property restitution fund Proprietatea [BSE:FP], edged up 0.15% to 19,289.69 points.
The composite BET-C rose 0.86% to 2,649.47 points on Friday. The ROTX index of Romania's 15 most liquid stocks, a joint index of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, BVB [BSE:BVB], and the Vienna Stock Exchange, inched up 0.13% to 8,002.00 points.
BVB's equity turnover fell to 6.8 million lei ($2.0 million/1.6 million euro) from 10.6 million lei on Thursday.
Turnover from trading in structured products totalled 1.2 million lei on Friday. Trading in government securities generated a turnover of 6.6 million lei.
Blue chip Fondul Proprietatea shed 0.02% to 0.4299 lei in Friday’s largest turnover of 1.2 million lei.
Oil and gas group OMV Petrom [BSE:SNP] was the top blue-chip gainer, climbing 2.41% to 0.297 lei in 572,000 lei turnover. Power grid operator Transelectrica [BSE:TEL] led the blue-chip losers, dropping 1.13% to 17.5 lei in 40,000 lei turnover.
SIF 5 Oltenia [BSE:SIF5] was the top gainer among the SIFs, advancing 1.9% to 1.07 lei in deals worth 664,000 lei.
The BET-XT index, which tracks the 25 most liquid companies on the bourse, including the SIFs, ended 0.67% at 408.26 points. The BET-NG, which includes companies from the energy sector and utilities, gained 1.0% to end at 622.77 points.
Rasdaq-C, the composite index of the over-the-counter market RASDAQ, rose 0.89% to 1,593.52 points. Turnover on RASDAQ jumped to 2.5 million lei from 78,000 lei on Thursday as 300,000 shares, equal to 15.8% of leasing firm Stomobi, changed hands in four block deals worth a combined 754,000 lei.
