BUCHAREST (Romania), May 7 (SeeNews) – The indices of the Bucharest stock market ended lower on Monday, as daily turnover rose, bourse data showed.
The blue-chip BET index of the Bucharest Stock Exchange [BSE:BVB] edged down 0.68% to 5,309.75 points.
The BET-BK, which tracks the 25 most traded companies on the bourse, including the blue chips and the five regional investment funds, the SIFs, fell 0.98% to 1,021.84 points.
The composite BET-C index inched down 0.78% to 2,910.83 points.
The BET-FI, which tracks the SIFs and property restitution fund Fondul Proprietatea [BSE:FP], fell 0.79% to 24,506.90 points.
The ROTX index of Romania's 15 most liquid stocks, a joint index of the Bucharest bourse and the Vienna Stock Exchange, closed down 0.22% at 10,731.57 points.
The bourse's total equity turnover rose to 39.5 million lei ($11.98 million/9.16 million euro) from 12.6 million lei on Friday.
The market was closed on May 6 for Easter Monday.
Blue chip Fondul Proprietatea ended 0.08% higher at 0.6605 lei in the session's highest turnover of 11.99 million lei.
SIF Transilvania [BSE:SIF3] registered the second largest turnover of 5.1 million lei, closing 2.25% lower at 0.63 lei.
Banca Transilvania [BSE:TLV] rose 2.37% to 1.295 lei in the day's third-largest turnover of 4.1 million lei.
The BET-XT index, which tracks the 25 most liquid companies on the bourse, went down 0.79% to 482.58 points.
The BET-NG, which includes companies from the energy sector and utilities, edged down 1.37% to 640.87 points.
The Rasdaq-C, the composite index of the over-the-counter market RASDAQ, rose 0.02% to 1,423.89 points.
Turnover on the RASDAQ fell to 104,695 lei from 944,412 lei on Friday.
