BUCHAREST (Romania), January 10 (SeeNews) – Romanian Chinese restaurant chain Wu Xing posted a turnover of 4.9 million lei ($1.4 million/1.1 million euro) last year, up 5.0% on 2010, local media reported on Tuesday.
The company plans large-scale expansion in the capital Bucharest over the medium term, daily Ziarul Financiar (www.zf.ro) quoted Wu Xing’s manager Remus Tiuca as saying,
"It was a difficult year as people were very much concerned about spending. Even though the business continues to grow, consumer behaviour has changed. Romanians gave up on having a drink or dessert and go straight to the main course," Tiuca said, adding he does not expect major changes in the market this year.
Wu Xing has two restaurant in Bucharest and plans at least one opening this year and about 15 new restaurants over the next three to five years, the daily said.
