May 3 (SeeNews) - Romania’s central bank deputy governor Liviu Voinea will be appointed representative of the country to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and will assume the position of senior advisor to the IMF executive director starting August 26, the central bank, BNR, said.
In order to begin his tenure at the IMF, Voinea will relinquish his position as BNR deputy governor on the same date, the BNR said in a press release on Thursday.
Voinea will replace Mugur Tolici at the IMF, whose tenure will cease on August 23 at his request.
Voinea, 43, has served as delegate minister for budget between December 2012 and August 2014.
