March 23 (SeeNews) - The value of Romanian banks' outstanding loans to the non-government sector rose 2.1% year-on-year in February, reaching 219.8 billion lei ($51.9 billion/48.1 billion euro), after growing 0.9% in January, the central bank, BNR, said on Thursday.
Private lending in lei increased 13.9% on the year to 126.8 billion lei in February, accelerating slightly from a 13.8% growth in January, BNR said in a statement.
Private lending in foreign currency decreased 10.6% to 92.9 billion lei, following a 12.5% decline in January.
