February 27 (SeeNews) - Romania's finance ministry said on Monday it plans to auction 3.7 billion lei ($867 million/819 million euro) in government securities and to sell an additional 375 million lei in non-competitive offers in March.
The finance ministry plans seven tenders for bonds with maturities ranging from one to ten years and two auctions for six-month papers. Also, it plans to sell 200 million euro of February 2021 bonds at the end of next month.
In February, the finance ministry sold 3.32 billion lei in domestic debt paper and an additional 315 million lei in non-competitive offers, below its initial target of 3.9 billion lei.
So far this year, the finance ministry has sold some 6.8 billion lei worth of leu-denominated bills and bonds.
In 2016, the finance ministry sold roughly 45 billion lei in leu-denominated government securities and 775 million euro in euro-denominated domestic debt and raised 3.25 billion euro on global markets.
