January 19 (SeeNews) - Romania's government said that it approved investments in the amount of 650.2 million lei ($143 million/132 million euro) in railway and road infrastructure projects in Timisoara, Calarasi and Bucharest.
Some 420 million lei will be invested in the construction of a railway connection to the Traian Vuia International Airport in Timisoara, the government said in a statement on Wednesday. The investment comes from non-reimbursable external funding, the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, the state budget, own resources of national railway operator CFR and other sources.
A further 119.3 million lei will be allocated to repair works on a main road bridge in the southern county of Calarasi. Financing comes mainly from non-reimbursable external financing and the state budget.
For Bucharest, the government approved a 110.9 million lei investment in a project for widening to four lanes a section of DN1A national road between the city's ring road and the intersection with the Chitila-Mogosoaia road in Ilfov county. Works on the 1.28 km road are expected to be completed within 10 months.
