April 27 (SeeNews) - Romania sold on Thursday 1.688 billion lei ($376.8 million/341.4 million euro) worth of two Treasury bonds maturing in 2028 and 2032, respectively, central bank data showed.
The finance ministry sold 833.8 million lei worth of T-bonds maturing on October 30, 2028 at Thursday's auction, above its 700 million lei target, the central bank said in a data release.
The average accepted yield was 7.15%, compared to 7.27% achieved at the previous auction of government securities of the same issue held in March. Demand for the T-bonds, which carry an annual coupon of 8.75%, decreased to 951.8 million lei from 1.649 billion lei at the previous auction.
The finance ministry also sold on Thursday 854 million lei worth of government bonds maturing on September 29, 2032, above the 700 million lei target.
The average accepted yield inched down to 7.32% from 7.34% achieved at the previous auction of bonds of the same issue held earlier this month. Demand for the T-bonds carrying an annual coupon of 8.25% fell to 1.039 billion lei from 1.239 billion lei at the previous auction.
Both issues will be reopened on Tuesday, when the finance ministry hopes to raise an additional 105 million lei for each through a non-competitive tender.
