ZIARUL FINANCIAR
- The Romanian life insurance arm of American International Group (AIG) will change its name to ALICO to reflect ownership, the unit's director Theodor Alexandrescu said. The main shareholder of the Romanian unit is ALICO (American Life Insurance Company), a subsidiary of AIG.
- Exports of Romanian carmaker Dacia, owned by France's Renault, rose by 500 million euro on the year to 1.5 billion euro in the first nine months supported by demand from western Europe, Dacia Vice President Constantin Stroe said.
- Romanian gas transmission company Transgaz sees its net profit at 295.2 million lei this year, 5.95% lower than previously forecast.

- New passenger car registrations under the brand of Romanian carmaker Dacia in France rose by 38% on the year to 48,743 in the first 10 months of 2009, data from the committee of French car makers showed. In October alone, registrations grew by 86%. Dacia is owned by Renault.
- The International Monetary Fund asked Romania to lay off around 150,000 peublic sector employees in 2010 to cut spending, SED LEX union alliance leader Vasile Marica said.
- Romania's mineral resources agency ANRM will launch next month an international auction to award concessions on 30 onshore and offshore oil fields, ANRM's president Alexandru Patrauti said.

- The number of AH1/N1 flu cases in Romania reached 555 by November 2 with no deaths from the virus reported, the country's deputy Health Minister Adrian Streinu Cercel said.
