ZIARUL FINANCIAR
- The Romanian leu is seen firming to 4.1 per euro in the next period from 4.2 per euro now, foreign analysts polled by the daily forecast.
- The Romanian distributor of Dutch truck producer DAF, EVW Holding, sees its turnover falling 40% this year from a 10% decrease planned earlier, as consequences of the economic crisis are worse than expected, the head of EVW Holding, Timotei Giurgi, said.
- The European Investment Bank has approved a 200 million euro loan to Czech power group CEZ for financing of group's 1.1 billion euro wind farm project in two Romanian towns, Fantanele and Cogealac, the lender said.
BUSINESS STANDARD
- Romanian state-run power grid operator Transelectrica plans to increase slightly its investment next year from more than 100 million euro earmarked for 2009, company's head Adrian Baicusi said.
- Romanian helicopter maker IAR Ghimbav will sign next week a 92 million euro investment agreement with European aerospace group EADS to produce parts for Airbus aircrafts in Romania, deputy Economy Minister Claudiu Stafie said.

- Romania has reported the sixth swine flu-related death, the Health Ministry said. It also confirmed 3,551 infections with the A(H1N1) virus by Thursday with 124 new cases registered in the last 24 hours.
