October 4 (SeeNews) - The number of tourists in Romania in August rose by 8.0% on the year to 919,900, and overnights increased by 1.1% to some 3.39 million, the country's statistics board (INS) said on Thursday.
ROMANIA TOURIST NUMBERS AND OVERNIGHTS:
In the first eight months of 2007 the number of tourists staying in Romania grew by 12.7% on the year to more than 4.794 million. Overnights increased by 8.8% to almost 14.588 million.
In 2006 Romania attracted 6.2 million tourists, 7.1% more than in 2005. The number of overnights they spent in the country increased by 3.4% to 18.9 million.
