May 27 (SeeNews) - Croatian company Rijeka Property has signed an agreement with Polish hotel operator Orbis Group for the construction of an 18.5 million euro ($20.7 million) ibis Styles hotel in the Adriatic resort of Rijeka, local media reported on Monday.
Construction should begin by the end of the year, as the first guests could be expected in the second half of 2021, private TV channel N1 reported.
The hotel will have an area of 14,969 square metres, 150 rooms, four conference rooms, a wellness area, as well as 115 parking spots.
"We definitely see more development opportunities, not only in Rijeka and the capital, but all over Croatia," Orbis&Accor Group's development leader for Southeastern Europe, Frank Reul, was quoted as saying.
Accor holds an 85.8% stake in Orbis. It is one of the world's leading hotel groups, operating 4,500 hotels in more than a hundred countries. The company employs some 280,000 workers.
The Orbis Hotel Group is the leading hotel operator in Poland and the sole holder of Accor's licence for hotel brands in 16 countries, including Southeastern Europe.
