February 6 (SeeNews) - Greek utility Public Power Corporation (PPC) said on Monday that it extending the exclusivity period for negotiations on the acquisition of Italian group Enel's assets in Romania until February 28.
The two parties will inform the market in case a binding agreement is signed, PPC said in a report.
In January, PPC said it will complete by mid-February the due diligence process for the acquisition of Enel Romania's assets.
PPC declared in the middle of December that it had entered an exclusivity agreement with the Enel group regarding the potential purchase of its Romanian assets.
Enel declared in November that it would sell its Romanian assets in 2023 and concentrate its operations in Europe on Italy and Spain. Through its subsidiaries Enel Energie and Enel Energie Muntenia, E-Distributie Banat, E-Distributie Dobrogea, and E-Distributie Muntenia, and Enel Green Power Romania, Enel operates in the sectors of electricity supply, distribution, and production in Romania.
