September 3 (SeeNews) - Poland has imposed a ban on all flights from Albania, effective September 2, due to an increase in coronavirus cases in the Western Balkan country, Albanian media reported.
LOT Polish Airlines will provide two charter flights from Tirana to Warsaw, on September 5 and September 8, for passengers planning to return to Poland, Albanian Daily News reported on Wednesday.
In mid-August, Poland barred nearly all Albanian citizens from travelling to the country, Tirana International Airport said in a post of its Facebook page at the time. Only spouses or children of Polish citizens, permanent residents, holders of work permit, families of diplomats and students studying in Poland were allowed to entere the country.
Albania has confirmed 9,728 coronavirus cases, including 296 deaths, as of Wednesday, health ministry data showed.
