April 4 (SeeNews) - Retail chain Pepco is opening its first two stores in Croatia, in the capital Zagreb, on April 7, the company said.
The first stores will be located at the Point Shopping Centre and the Supernova Garden Mall, both in Croatia's capital, Pepco announced on its website.
The retailer will launch its third store in Croatia on April 28, in Westgate Shopping Centre in Zapresic, a city in the Zagreb County.
In October, the retailer, which operates in several Central European countries, told SeeNews it plans to expand its network in Croatia to 20 stores in the first year of operation and to a further 30 stores in the following two years.
Pepco has hundreds of stores across the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Romania. It started operating in Poland in 2004.
From the beginning, Pepco has been supported by Pepkor, a South African-based investment holding company, which has operated in the retail sector since 1965 and currently employs some 30,000 people in over 3000 affiliate stores in Europe, Africa and Australia.
