CHISINAU (Moldova), September 4 (SeeNews) – Cyprus-based computer components supplier ASBIS said on Friday it has been appointed Apple Value Added Distributor (VAD) in Moldova.
"ASBIS will provide an extended range of value added services, develop routes-to-market, perform demand generation activities, develop the Apple Reseller and Retailer channels, complete channel authorisation certification, improve warranty and post-warranty offerings and authorise and develop the Apple Authorised Service Providers network," the company said in a statement.
Distribution excludes iPhone sales and service.
ASBIS was also tapped as Apple VAD in Georgia and in eight countries in the Commonwealth of Independent States: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
ASBIS, set up in 1995, is present in 26 countries. The company has more than 1,000 employees and posted a turnover of more than $1.5 billion (1.05 billion euro) in 2008.
