January 27 (SeeNews) - Oil and gas company NIS [BEL:NIIS] generated the highest turnover among the blue chips on the Belgrade Stock Exchange on Friday, as stock indices closed up, bourse data showed.
A total of 4,617 NIS shares changed hands in a turnover of 3.3 million dinars. NIS closed up 2.17% at 705 dinars.
The BELEX15 index, which tracks the most liquid shares on the Belgrade Stock Exchange, ended the session up 1.39% at 852.41 points. The broader BELEXline, a free-float market capitalisation weighted index, also closed up 0.99% at 1,759.49.
The total turnover on the bourse amounted to 847.2 million dinars ($7.8 million/7.2 million euro) on Friday, up from 5.7 million dinars on Thursday, as 87 transactions were carried out.
Trading in Treasury bonds contributed 838.5 million dinars to the total turnover on the stock exchange on Friday.
In the period between January 23 and 27, BELEX15 went up 2.26%, while BELEXline rose 0.23%.
The total value of trading on the Belgrade stock market this week was 984.4 million dinars, versus 62.4 million dinars in the previous trading week.
Treasury bonds trading turnover totalled 941.2 million dinars this week, up from 16.0 million dinars last week.
