BELGRADE (Serbia), April 17 (SeeNews) – Serbia's Nis airport said it serviced 75,320 passengers in the first quarter of 2019, down 11% year-on-year.
The number of takeoffs and landings at Nis airport fell to 610 in the first quarter from 634 in the prior-year period, whereas cargo volume declined to 99.1 tonnes from 258.4 tonnes, figures posted on the website of the Konstantin Veliki Airport in Nis show.
In March alone, the airport handled 26,448 passengers, down 9%, while the number of takeoffs and landings fell to 220 from 228. A total of 50.1 tonnes of cargo were processed at the airport in March 2019, versus 137.1 tonnes in March 2018.
Nis airport handled 351,581 passengers in 2018, down 6%, while the number of aircraft movements fell 4% to 1,417.
Earlier this month, Serbia's government launched a tender for the operation of subsidised services on 12 international destinations from the airport in Nis.
