SKOPJE (North Macedonia), January 23 (SeeNews) – The business confidence indicator in North Macedonia's retail sector edged up by 0.3 percentage points in the fourth quarter of 2019, as compared to the previous quarter, the country's statistical office said.
The fourth-quarter reading of the index was 0.5 pp higher compared to the value recorded in the same period of 2018, Makstat said on Wednesday in a quarterly survey conducted among local managers.
"The financial situation in the fourth quarter of 2019 is more favourable compared to the previous one of 2019. The expectations for the orders for the next period are that they will increase, while the number of employees is expected to decrease," the statistical office said.
The selling prices in the fourth quarter of 2019 have decreased compared to the previous quarter, and they are expected to be stable in the following three months, Makstat said.
