December 17 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's insurance companies posted combined gross written premiums (GWP) of 8.8 billion denars ($161.8 million/142.9 million euro) in the first nine months of 2021, up from 7.5 billion denars in the same period of 2020, data by the country’s Insurance Supervision Agency showed.
Non-life insurance premiums increased 12% year-on-year to 7.5 billion denars in the nine months through September, while premiums in the life insurance segment went up 18.4% to 1.3 billion denars, according to figures released by the Insurance Supervision Agency.
Triglav Osiguruvanje, part of Slovenian insurance group Triglav, had the largest market share among the non-life insurers in the January-September period, as its gross written premiums reached 1 billion denars.
In the life insurance segment, Croatia Osiguruvanje - Life held the largest market share with gross written premiums of 457.6 million denars in the January-September period.
The report includes data on eleven non-life insurers and five life insurers.
