May 17 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia-based construction company Beton Skopje [MSE:BESK] said it recorded a net loss of 147.7 million denars ($2.5 million/2.4 million euro) in the first quarter of 2022, compared with a 25.5 million denars net loss booked in the same period last year.
Total operating revenue dropped 64% year-on-year to 72.9 million denars in the January-March period, while operating expenses were down 5% to 207.6 million denars in the review period, Beton said in an interim financial statement filed with the Skopje bourse on Monday.
The company decreased its cost of consumed materials to 35.7 million denars in the first quarter of 2022 from 51.8 million denars in the first three months of 2021. Other expenditures came in at 42.9 million denars in the three months through March, up from 23.2 million denars in the first quarter of 2021.
Beton Skopje, founded in 1947, designs and builds houses, roads, bridges, tunnels, hydro systems and industrial plants.
The company's shares last traded on the Macedonian Stock Exchange (MSE) on April 29, when they switched hands at an average price of 3,559 denars.
