SKOPJE (North Macedonia), November 7 (SeeNews) – North Macedonia's consumer prices edged down 0.2% year-on-year in October, after increasing by 0.3% in the previous month, the country's statistical office said on Thursday.
The prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which have the largest weight of 38% in the consumer basket, increased by 0.9% year-on-year in October, after growing 1.1% in September, Makstat said in a statement.
The prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, which have the second-largest weight of 13%, edged down 0.1% in October after falling 0.3% in the prior month.
Prices in the transport segment, with 8.7% weight in the consumer basket, fell 7.1% in October, following a 3.5% drop in the previous month.
On a monthly comparison basis, North Macedonia's consumer prices edged down 0.1% in October, after falling 0.6% in September.
