April 20 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia received 10,530 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer, health minister Venko Filipce said.
The vaccine doses were purchased under a direct contract with the U.S. pharmaceutical company, Filipce said in a post on Twitter late on Monday.
North Macedonia is also expecting a second shipment of about 10,000 Pfizer vaccines on April 26, according to an earlier statement by the health minister.
The country should also receive additional 76,000 doses of AstraZeneca's vaccine against the COVID-19 infection by the end of the month.
North Macedonia has reported 147,229 COVID-19 cases, including 4,478 coronavirus-related deaths so far. The country's authorities started the immunisation of the population on February 17.
