January 10 (SeeNews) - Four out of the five main indices of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) closed in red territory on Wednesday, with the benchmark SOFIX erasing the most, 0.47% to 763.63 points, bourse data showed.
The blue-chip index was pressed by a 3.70% drop in pharmaceuticals producer Sopharma [BUL:SFA] to 5.72 levs. Furthermore, fertiliser maker Neochim [BUL:NEOH] slipped 2.04% to 24.00 levs.

After posting a 57% jump in IoT devices sales in 2023, Shelly Group [BUL:SLYG] became the biggest gainer amongst the blue-chips in the trading session, rising 2.27% to 49.50 levs. Shelly Group was also the most liquid stock, as it generated a turnover of 588,704 levs ($330,079 /300,999 euro) with 11,893 shares changing hands.
The weak performances of Sopharma and Neochim also hit both the BGBX40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, and the BGTR30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight. The BGBX40 finished 0.31% lower at 157.99 points, additionally constrained by a 3.05% slip in battery maker Monbat [BUL:MONB] to 3.82 levs. The BGTR30, for its part, edged down 0.25% to 797.12 points.
The BGREIT, which tracks seven real estate investment trusts, ticked down 0.11% to 193.56 points. Bulgarian Real Estate Fund REIT [BUL:BREF] erased 1.52% to 2.60 levs while Advance Terrafund REIT [BUL:ATER] dipped 0.60% to 3.30 levs. A 4.57% climb in Sopharma Buildings [BUL:SFB] to 20.60 levs was not enough to offset those losses.
Finally, the BEAMX index, which tracks the ten most highly capitalised growth companies, was the only one to close the session on the rise, adding 0.65% to 103.13 points. This was mainly the result of a 3.03% growth in HR Capital [BUL:HRC] to 2.04 levs, along with a 2.36% climb in investment firm ImPulse Growth [BUL:IMP] to 1.30 levs in a trading volume of 14,965. Biometric identification security systems developer Biodit [BUL:BDT] also advanced, by 2.17% to 1.41 levs.
Total turnover on the main market of the Sofia bourse slid to 683,141 levs on Wednesday from 1.06 million levs on Tuesday.
