December 16 (SeeNews) - Montenegro's mobile phone penetration rate fell to 206.14% at the end of November from 219.98% a month earlier, data from the country's telecoms regulator showed.
The three mobile phone operators in the country of 620,000 people reported a total of 1,278,358 SIM cards in use at the end of November. Pre-paid subscribers totalled 975,820, figures from Montenegro's Agency for Telecommunications indicated.
T-Mobile, a unit of Magyar Telekom, the Hungarian arm of Deutsche Telekom, was the market leader at the end of November reporting share of 36.14%.
ProMonte, owned by Norway's biggest telecommunications group Telenor, came second with 35.4% market share at the end of November.
The third largest mobile operator, M:Tel, started operations in Montenegro in July 2007. It reported a 28.46% market share at the end of November. M:Tel is owned by a consortium of Serbian state-owned Telekom Srbija and Netherlands-based Ogalar.
