November 29 (SeeNews) - Montenegro’s trade deficit expanded by 16.2% on the year to 2.042 billion euro ($2.302 billion) in the first ten months of 2021, the country's statistical office said on Monday.
Exports rose 18.4% to 339.4 million euro in the January-October period, while imports went up 16.5% to 2.042 billion euro, the statistical office said in a statement.
Montenegro's key export destinations in the first ten months of 2021 were Serbia with 86.9 million euro, Bosnia with 25.8 million euro and Italy with 22.3 million euro.
Imports into the country originated mainly from Serbia, which accounted for 413.3 million euro worth of imports, Germany with 188.1 million euro, and Italy with 127.4 million euro.
In 2020, Montenegro's trade deficit declined by 20.5% to 1.738 billion euro.
