PODGORICA (Montenegro), December 29 (SeeNews) – Montenegro’s trade deficit declined by 20.4% on the year to 1.599 billion euro ($1.959 billion) in the first eleven months of 2020, the country's statistical office said on Tuesday.
Exports declined 13.2% to 324.1 million euro in the January-November period, while imports went down 19.3% to 1.923 billion euro, the statistical office said in a statement.
Montenegro's key export destinations in the first eleven months of 2020 were Serbia with 88.6 million euro, Slovenia with 32.3 million euro and Hungary with 21.4 million euro.
Imports into the country originated mainly from Serbia, which accounted for 378.2 million euro worth of imports, Germany with 183.6 million euro and Italy with 124.8 million euro.
In 2019, Montenegro's trade gap widened by 1.5% to 2.185 billion euro.
