PODGORICA (Montenegro), February 27 (SeeNews) – The number of mobile phone subscribers in Montenegro rose 8.42% year-on-year to 1,111,922 at the end of January, according to data from the national telecommunications regulator, EKIP.
The mobile penetration rate in Montenegro decreased to 179.33% in January from 182.96% at the end of December, when the number of subscribers was 1,134,412, figures posted on the EKIP website show.
Montenegro, with a population of around 680,000, has three mobile operators - Telenor, Crnogorski Telekom and M:tel. Telenor had a 34.02% share of the overall number of subscribers at the end of January, followed by M:tel with 33.06% and Crnogorski Telekom with 32.92%.
The share of postpaid subscribers was 51.43% at the end of January.
