January 13 (SeeNews) - Flag carrier Montenegro Airlines is in talks with Croatia Airlines for the launch of a direct service linking their capital cities - Podgorica and Zagreb, Montenegrin daily Dan reported.
The service is planned to be operated three times a week in cooperation with Croatia Airlines, Dan quoted Orlandic as saying last week.
"In the last three years, we have opened 35 new lines. This year we continue opening new lines: from March, Ryanair introduces two new routes from Podgorica to Dublin and Krakow, which should be year-round. They also announced that during the summer season, in addition to the Wroclaw-Podgorica line, they would also operate the Poznan-Podgorica line," Orlandic said.
Last month, Montenegro's government said it plans to invest 155 million euro ($172.5 million) in the capital of Montenegro Airlines in the next six years to back the company's development. The air carrier will use the financing to cover past-due liabilities and acquire new aircraft worth 50 million euro, the government said back then.
