May 25 (SeeNews) - The average gross salary in Moldova grew by a real 6.7% on the year to 5,218.9 lei ($286/255 euro) in the first quarter of 2017, the country's statistics office said on Thursday.
In nominal terms, the average gross wage was 11.3% higher year-on-year in the first three months of the year, the National Bureau of Statistics, BNS, said in a statement.
BNS provided no monthly figures.
The average gross salary in the public sector was 4,725.67 lei in the first quarter, up 12.6% on the year in nominal terms.
In the private sector, the gross wage was 5,428.6 lei during January-March, up by a nominal 10.7% on the year.
