March 6 (SeeNews) - Moldova's unemployment rate decreased to 2.9% in the fourth quarter of 2018 from 3.3% in the prior-year period, the country's statistical bureau said on Wednesday.
The number of unemployed in the country of 3.5 million people was 34,200 at the end of December, the statistical bureau said in a statement.
Moldova's workforce decreased by 1% on the year to 1.19 million people in the fourth quarter.
Unemployment among men in Moldova was 3.6% versus 2.1% among women. The jobless rate was 4% in urban areas and 1.9% in rural areas.
