October 8 (SeeNews) - Passenger traffic at Moldova's Chisinau International Airport increased by an annual 5.22% through September to 1.0 million passengers, the airport said.
In September alone, the number of passengers rose to 141,446 from 133,499 reported a year earlier, the airport said on its website on Monday.
Flights to Vienna and Venice registered the sharpest rise in passenger numbers last month - by 37.53% and 33.12%, respectively.
The most popular outbound destinations last month remained Moscow, Antalya and Istanbul.
Four Moldovan and 15 foreign air carriers operated out of the Chisinau airport over the review period, flying to 29 international destinations.
In 2012, Chisinau International Airport serviced 1.22 million passengers.
