September 15 (SeeNews) - The Moldovan central bank, BNM, said it sold 120.93 million lei ($10.8 million/7.4 million euro) in four Treasury bill issues on Tuesday, above its target offer of 97 million lei, as yields on all issues rose.
Primary dealers placed bids for a total of 161.2 million lei worth of government securities in the auction, BNM said in a statement. The central bank, which sells the T-bills on behalf of the Finance Ministry, offered 21-day, 91-day, 182-day and 364-day T-bills.
The yield on the 21-day T-bills climbed to 2.82% from 2.46% at the previous auction on September 8. Dealers placed bids for 52 million lei worth of T-bills versus 23 million lei on offer.
The yield on the 91-day T-bills rose to 5.9% from 4.96% at the previous auction. Dealers placed bids for 53.3 million lei worth of T-bills versus 29 million lei on offer.
The 182-day T-bills yielded 8.44%, higher than the 6.74% achieved on September 8. The BNM received bids for 43.7 million lei worth of T-bills, compared to 35 million lei on offer.
The yield on the 364-day T-bills was up to 8.6% from 8.11% at the previous auction, as dealers placed bids for 12.2 million lei worth of T-bills versus 10 million lei on offer.
